During his first full day in office, President Barack Obama declared that he wanted to usher in a new era of openness in our government. Open Government TV will provide information that is designed to engage, educate, and empower its viewing audience, particularly those small and economically challenged businesses seeking to find ways to successfully participate in the American Recovery Reinvestment Act.
Open Government TV will maintain a focus on the domestic economic strategies implemented by the new administration as it attempts to integrate its leadership with the programs, infrastructure, and resources inherited from previous administrations. We will develop television programming within a framework guided by the Administration’s of-declared principles of collaboration, transparency, and participation.
In other words, while some ideas will be better than others, every voice must be heard, every opinion counts, and collaboration between the public and private sectors will be more able to identify wasteful spending, increase efficiencies, and to create opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses to succeed in their missions. In this way, we believe that the demographics that are the most challenged, and traditionally the most expensive to our nation’s economy, can become tremendously productive if successfully engaged.
