Profile
KDM & Associates, LLC provides business development and government affairs consultative services to organizations involved in the advancement of economic development projects.
Originally established in August of 2001 to assist large corporations in identifying small and minority-owned firms that could become effective strategic teaming partners or subcontractors for large and mid-size public sector contracts, KDM employs a team-oriented approach, drawing from its diverse network of professional business and marketing firms. KDM works with established information technology companies, construction firms, engineering firms, manufacturers, non-profits and Fortune 1000 companies to identify partner firms seeking to partner with like or larger companies to achieve the common objective of generating increased visibility and revenue. In this way, KDM has contributed revenue and growth to some of the leading minority-owned firms in the country.
Expertise
With over 80 years of combined government procurement experience, the KDM team is comprised of retired program managers from such institutions as: the Air Force, Commerce Department, FAA, GSA, HUD, Department of Energy, and the White House. These industry experts enable KDM to help large businesses identify qualified smaller firms capable of participating in successful teaming relationships, and this matchmaking experience is what makes KDM’s approach so valuable. Whether it’s an 8a application, small business marketing plan, mentor-protégé or teaming relationship, KDM works with public policy makers and leading industry experts to help its clients develop successful marketing solutions and management strategies.
KDM offers customized solutions that focus on driving return on investment to its clients. The firm’s expertise includes policy-related subject matter such as clean energy, Federal Recovery Act (stimulus) access to credit, small business set-asides, and strategic teaming. KDM’s core strengths include business, market, and channel development, government affairs consulting, and public relations for domestic and international markets. One example: KDM will leverage its nationwide network of affiliated organizations to increase awareness of the U.S. Census in 2010. Keith D. Moore, President & CEO
Keith Moore, President & CEO of KDM & Associates and Executive Producer and creator of Open Government TV (OGTV), has been involved in public policy and federal government contracting for nine years. During that time, he has provided business development services for small and mid-sized firms hoping to work with our nation’s government.
In 1996, Keith received the NAACP Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award as a result of his successful conversion of one of his family-owned healthcare facilities in Asbury Park, NJ, into a drug and alcohol halfway house known as Exodus House, offering drug and alcohol addicted men and women six months of safe housing, education, job training and a second chance at living life on life’s terms. Exodus House rapidly became a part of the community solution to reducing the number of homeless addicts in Asbury Park, which has since experienced a vibrant revitalization characterized by increased private investment and development.
As a result of his success with community development, Keith became a frequent guest contributor on New Jersey News Network, Comcast Cable, various radio broadcasts, and the statewide NJ Minority Business News Journal. Keith was frequently called for speaking engagements, especially among the church community, and was developed a reputation as a community leader who believed in innovative approaches to urban revitalization. In 1997, Keith was appointed by the Governor of New Jersey to the New Jersey Commerce & Economic Growth Commission, which later led to a position as Director of Public Affairs and Community Relations for Prosperity New Jersey, a division of The New Jersey Commerce and Economic Growth Commission.
In 2001, Keith founded KDM & Associates, LLC, which immediately became an effective resource for large prime contractors seeking to win awards from Governor Whitman’s $10 billion school construction fund. Within eighteen months of KDM’s inception, the firm helped The Delta Organization, one of the largest minority-owned construction management firms in the region, win a $6 million brownfield redevelopment grant.
Upon entering the federal marketplace, Keith again established KDM as a respected business development consulting services firm, this time for federal contractors such as RS Information Systems (RSIS), for whom KDM helped secure a $1 billion contract award with the Department of Energy. Following this award, RSIS went on to become one of only a handful of mid-sized companies to be awarded one of 29 General Services Administration (GSA) Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) Alliant contracts, valued at approximately $50 billion. Most recently, KDM succeeded in securing for one of its clients a $2 billion IDIQ, one of only 400 awarded.
Today, as a nationally renowned community and small business activist, Keith believes that a successful economic turn-around requires a voice and a venue for those most adversely affected by the lack of resources available to our small, disadvantaged, and minority business owners. “The road to American Recovery requires participation at all levels in order to be a true recovery,” he says.
